Techtrain joins the Knorr Bremse Group

Techtrain was established in 1997 and has built a strong reputation within the UK for the provision on repair, service, maintenance, overhaul and upgrade, refurbishment and conversion of rail air conditioning equipment as well as the provision of external training courses.

The formal agreemen finalising the aquisition was signed on the 23rd of December 2008 at the Melksham Headquaters of KBRS.

The KBRS railservices specialist Driver Training Section will now be based at the Techtrain, Doncaster facility, using a new train simulator installed and ready for operation at the beginning of 2009.

Paul Johnson, commented, "The acquisition of Techtrain adds air conditioning service and maintenance expertise to out existing railservices product portfolio. The location of the Techtrain facility in Doncaster means that we are also now better placed to service our customers who are located in the North of the country.

Martin Hoare and Janet Stevenson want to assure customers its customers that it is business as usual with both the existing Directors and all of the current team continuing with their roles in the company.

"Techtrain has built up an enviable reputation for specialised HVAC expertise combined with strong customer focus. they have established a wide range of major customer in the rail industry including Bombardier Transportation, First Group, National Express and Siemens with whom they have worked with in successful partnership over many years. KBRS are keen to maintain this approach and the quality and consistency if this service," commented Jason Abbott, KBRS Director of Engineering who has joined the board of Techtrain. He continued, "We are delighted to welcome Techtrain into the Knorr-Bremse Group and look forward to building on the strength of the established Techtrain brand. Going forward, we intent to offer an ecpanded portfolio of services across both the HVAC and training spectrum."
